The Health also travels
Thoundsans of people visit Marbella every year and for them, their health is as important as enjoying their holidays
The World´s Health Organisation (O.M.S.), through the International Health Advise Service, gives some recommendations to the travellers and the tourists. Marbella´s visitors in addition to enjoying de sunshine and the beach, could also enjoy the peace of mind knowing that, by following these advises, their holiday will be a very healthy one.

Before you travel, we recommend to visit your GP that, in case of suffering from some disease that requires some specific medication, he will write a report and prescribe the medication necessary to cover the vacation period.

The travellers will have to acquire certain familiarity with the health service of the country that they are visiting and to know if they are covered by their insurance. In order to receive this information, they must go to the National Institute of Seguridad Social (INSS), where information about the agreements that Spain has with other countries around the world will be provided.

It is always useful to take a antiseptic cream and First Aid kit of easy application. In certain zones, the suntan lotion is a basic necessity, the repelent for mosquitos and the salts for dehidratation.

The excessive heat and humidity, can cause a heat stroke, loss of liquids and salts. This may result in a serious condition that makes medical care necessary urgently. In the case of exhaustion it is recommended to take tea and rich drinks in mineral salts (juices of fruits and vegetables, etc.)

The excessive exposure to the sun can cause serious and debilitating burns, specially in people of clear skin and children. The way to avoid this, is to start slowly with a progressive exposure, always using a hat and sunglasses and also to applying lotions with high protection factor for the skin .

During the holiday, the changes in the food habits, the schedules etc. can trigger digestive problems. Remember that it is recommendable to drink only water that offers sufficient guarantees or that it is bottled. This will have to be opened in your presence.

Bathing in the sea does not have risks of transmissible diseases. Nevertheless it is recommendable that the traveller checks if it is allowed to bath in the different areas of the beach and does not risk his health. The jelly fish can cause strong pains and irritations of the skin.

Aids and hepatitis B, has increased in the last years and practically exists in all the countries around the world. The transmission of most of these infections does not take place only by sexual contact. Certain infections in particular the Aids, hepatitis B and sífilis also can be transmitted by the blood and the use of infected needles.

It is necessary to consider, that danger of transmission of Aids does not exist by the use of public transport, by hand contact, greetings, by the use of public toilets or food utensils and that this disease is not transmited by mosquitos or other insects.
